About the Scottish Ancestral Tourism Group


The Group, which is supported by VisitScotland and Scottish Government, brings together a range of organisations serving ancestral visitors including tourist businesses, heritage agencies, clan and family bodies, family history societies and professional genealogists . Membership is by invitation and is extended to representative organisations in the fields above.


Mission Statement: ‘To support Scotland’s tourist businesses and other bodies in providing our ancestral visitors with a world class experience, thus boosting the economic impact of this key market and encouraging its growth’.
