Scottish Ancestral Tourism Group

“Recent research indicates that Ancestral Tourism is already worth over £100m per year to Scotland’s economy and has potential to grow to as much as £480m.  Up to five million diaspora Scots are potential customers for ancestral visits. These visitors often travel outside peak months and to places their ancestors lived, which may be outside normal tourist areas”.

The Scottish Ancestral Tourism Group exists to help businesses, small and large, to maximise income from ancestral tourists.

We work in partnership with the Scottish Council on Archives whose nationwide resources are shown here .
